Hoosier Haunts - Paranormal Photography & Ghost Pics

If you decide you want look for a ghost on your own or with a group of friends. Please remember to obtain permission before entering private property. Observe signage. Watch for posted hours for cemeteries, you may not want to be locked into those that have gates and fences. Have Fun!

Things you might need to bring along.

Flashlights - I like using a headlamp. It frees your hands to carry other things. Some ghost hunters will use a red lens. I think the red lens actually hampers your vision to see in front of you.

Camera - Film, digital, or throwaway? Depends on your situation. I use a digital and a throwaway. Both have their own uniqueness. In some active haunted areas it is possible to point and shoot over a thousand shots with a digital. Also with a digital you can see orbs in active areas.

Extra Batteries - When in active hot spots, spirits will feed energy on your batteries. It's not usual to gain energy when leaving a hot spot. Cameras lose power alot on ghost hunts. My old digital camera recommended I use Lithium batteries; so far I have not lost power. To keep battery replacement expenses down, you might try experimenting with rechargeables.

EMF or K2 -  As Seen on Ghost Hunters, used by professional ghost hunters.

Digital or small tape recorder - Can be used to detect voices.

Stethoscope - I have heard heartbeats from headstones. You may also hear scratching noises.

Two Way Radio - Keeps you in contact with others who may be ghost hunting with you. Also if traveling in more than one vehicle, you can stay in contact with one another without cell charges.

GPS - My Garmin has over 40000 cemeteries in its database. So it might just help you find your away around at night. It will also help you find a gas station too.
